Shoes For Paris Fashion Week SS'12

Running helter skelter around Paris’s cobble stone streets during SS’12 Fashion Week, I found myself thanking the poets, the stars and LbyO’s Messenger shoes.

LbyO’s 12cm heels, offset by a 1 ½ cm platform, had me dressed for the Carven runway show at Jeu de Paume, 1, Pl. Concorde as well as for Balmain, Barbara Bui at The Ritz, Rick Owens, Nina Ricci, Haider Ackermann and of course a look-see run through at the fabulous Vendôme Luxury.
What makes these stilettos so live-in comfortable? Gel cushioning designed right into the shoe on the heel and the metatarsus (the ball) of the foot, camouflaged by elegant and detailed design. And I’m thinking, what took them so long? Fleur Linet (“L”) and Marie Obegi (“O”), the shoe designers, explain, “Louboutin doesn’t have to wear his shoes!”
These gorgeous and stylish must-haves, available in the U.S. at Mercer Street’s RIUA Shoe Concept store as well as in St. Tropez, Paris (350-400 Euro) and Obegi’s native Lebanon, also carry a special message for the wearer and the admirer, on the sole of the shoe, visible when worn. The first collection’s quotes: Baudelaire; The second collection: Urban Jungle; And the upcoming third collection: Oscar Wilde. The St. Henry, “Passionement, A la Folie," on the Saint Stéphane (pictured), “Cede a la tentation” (give in to temptation) and the marquee design, the Saint Gabriel, “Meme quand elle marche, on dirait qu’elle danse,” (Even when she walks, she dances.)
